Fostering Success for Every Learner

At East Haven Academy, we are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where every elementary student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

A cornerstone of our student support system is the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS). MTSS is a proactive and preventative framework that helps us identify students' needs early and provide them with an intentional level of support. This data-driven process involves three tiers of support:

• Tier 1: Universal Supports: All students receive high-quality, research-based instruction and curriculum in their classroom.
• Tier 2: Targeted Supports: For students who need a little extra help, we provide small-group interventions in areas like reading, math, or social skills.
• Tier 3: Intensive Supports: A small number of students may require more intensive support (higher frequency and duration) to meet their goals.

Our Early Intervention Team (EIT) process is a key part of our MTSS framework. The EIT is a collaborative team of educators and support staff who meet regularly to review student data and discuss how best to support students who are struggling. Through this process, we work together to match students with the appropriate academic, behavioral, and social-emotional resources they need to ultimately succeed in the Tier 1 setting.

East Haven Academy Early Intervention Team

At East Haven Academy, our Early Intervention Team is dedicated to partnering with families to ensure every student's success. This team meets regularly throughout the school year to review student progress and determine any necessary adjustments to students’ tiered interventions. The EIT Coordinator facilitates these meetings and manages the home/school connection.
